Fibroids & Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD)

Fibroids are non-cancerous growths in the uterus that can develop during a woman’s childbearing years. PCOD are soft follicular cysts in the ovaries common in young girls and women. Both the conditions leads to irregular hormonal assay and in married women, then causing hinderence with conception.

Family history of fibroids, obesity, poor lifestyle and stress contribute to formation of fibroids and ovarian cysts.

Symptoms of fibroids include heavy menstrual bleeding, prolonged periods and pelvic pain while ovarian cysts are associated with delayed periods, weight gain, facial hair and hirsutism. Affected patients may experience pain in the abdomen, lower back, or pelvis.

There is abnormal menstruation, intermittent, heavy or delayed menstruation. Dysmenorrhea or painful menstruation is also experienced. Abdominal distension or cramping is also associated. Few symptoms varies from patient to patient.

Treatments includes hormonal  medication and removal of the fibroid  or cysts through surgery which has long term side effects.

Hysterectomy, Uterine myomectomy and Laparoscopic surgery are commonly practiced.

If hysterectomy is done, removal of uterus leads to surgically induced menopause. The abrupt disruption in the production of hormones will cause symptoms that are more severe, more frequent and last longer compared with symptoms of natural menopause.

Homoeopathy for Fibroids

Homeopathy as a scientific system of therapeutics is based on identifying the individual as an entity and selecting the similimum according to his characteristics. In homoeopathy each individual is considered as a distinct entity with certain characteristics of his own and based on these characteristics we choose an identical medicinal picture. Thus we see that Individualization is one of the basic tenets of Homoeopathy.

Homoeopathy believes that each individual of any race, nationality, breed or background has some characteristic features which differentiate him from all other of his own kind. Even two twins with same environmental and genetic background have some features which differentiates them. You must have seen that in a same family too every individual responds differently to same situation, a drench in rain may cause backache in one, fever in other and headache in the third. Why is it so? It is because each of us has a different Constitution, an altogether different individuality. Every person reacts to any external agent according to his/her individuality.

Homoeopathic remedies tend to balance the hormones, cure the fibroids and cysts  and reduce irregular menstrual bleeding. They are natural, effective, with no side effects and can be used even during pregnancy.

The length of the treatment varies depending on the size and number of fibroids. In most cases fibroid-induced symptoms such as excessive menstrual bleeding, incontinence, and urinary frequency resolve within a few months of receiving the correct homoeopathic medicine.

The improvement in menstruation can be seen from first few  months of starting medications for PCOD.

Homoeopathy is a holistic treatment, therefore the homoeopathic medicine not only cures fibroids and ovarian cysts but also improves your overall health.
